Questions About Upgrading to 10.12

I have a iMac with the following os,

OS X El Capitan

21.5 Late 2009

Processor 3.06 Ghx Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory 4 GN 1067 Mhx DDR3

Graphics NIVDIA Ge Force 0400 256 MB


I don't do gaming and just use the computer for basic work, excel and internet and mail. The problem I have is the new turbo tax says I have to upgrade to 10.12


My question will Sierra work with what I am now using? Will there be any issues?

The latest OS you can run is High Sierra, and you ought to. It's always smart to keep your software updated, both for bug fixes and for security updates.

I staying put on El Capitan, 10.11.

High Sierra 10.13 is nice and stable now. No harm in upgrading to that if your machine supports it. You'll get another year and a half or so of security updates and bug fixes, whereas El Capitan is now out of the support cycle.
