I live in Canada and AC for my MBP 13 is $292.95 with tax directly from Apple.

I have family in Utah and I can have Applecare sent to them for $244.00 with no tax (because I'm buying IN Canada I pay no USA tax) And the exchange rate makes that $247, which is almost a $50 savings.

Now my question is, when they get the AppleCare can they just phone me and read me the # and I can register it? Or will I eventually need the physical box that they have in case I ever need warranty?

Thanks

In my experience you will not need the box, all that you would need is Web Registration Number, which is a sheet of paper inside of the box.

Hope this helps,
Macfan

WOW!

Excuse my ignorance as I've never heard of this place before but is it really legit? That's a heck of a lot of savings!

B&H Photo is legit! I purchased Applecare for my 13" MBP a few weeks ago from them and had no issues with getting my plan activated and approved.

B&H is definitely legit. I went to their store in New York last year...it's amazing. It looks like walking through an Amazon warehouse - they have a whole moving system for product.

B&H is a superb company. I buy almost all my stuff from them including my AC. You should have no problem registering even shipped to your family in the states.
