Just wanted to give a little input on my first thoughts on a few cases I have purchased. I cannot stand huge Otterbox cases and the such so I purchased four 'slim' cases because I couldn't decide which I wanted.

Casecrown Bonbons Glider
- Purchased this because I loved the iPhone 4 metallic glider
- However, this is much thicker than the previous iPhone 4/4s model
- Protection is great, very durable feeling and fits well, but the lip around the phone is pretty thick and wasn't to my liking
- Gave this case away, they liked it a lot

Luvvitt FROST Soft Case (Black)
- Amazon.com purchase
- Nice, hard silicone-like material
- Not too thick, thinner 'lip' than the Casecrown glider
- The top button and the volume button are noticeably harder to push down, it would probably loosen up though
- My main beef with this case is that they advertised it as black frost, but I would say it was barely even a light grey

SwitchEasy NUDE
- Thinnest out of the bunch, but also the biggest disappointment
- Feels ridiculously cheap
- Looks pretty cheap too
- Not a fan at all, waste of money

Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case
- My favorite case and the current one I am using
- Pretty thin, as thin if not thinner than the Luvvitt case
- Lip around the screen is reasonable and looks/feels right
- Material feels nice and durable
- Only beef is that the buttons are harder to press, but I feel they will break in; also the volume buttons are molded as one button which is kind of weird

Well that's it, I figured I'd give you my input on a few cases I've tried. If you have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for the diztronic review.

Exciting for this case to arrive.

Have a minisuit smoke tpu on my white 5 now, going to be giving to a family member for their black 5 when I get my clear Diztronic :)

Awww... disappointed with the Switcheasy review.. is it that bad? Usually a big fan of switcheasy.. :(

It just wasn't for me. I don't like how the bottoms open and I certainly do not want a removable rubber thing in there that I need to play with every time I want to charge my phone or plug my headphones in. The cut outs for the buttons look and feel cheap. I was going to say the plastic was most likely durable and thick enough, but I just went to bend it a little bit to test its durability and I snapped it in half. Sad...

Just got the diztronic today. I had one on my old Galaxy Nexus and liked it alot. The one for the iP5 is even better.

This is replacing an otterbox defender I had since launch day. The Otterbox was just to bulky for pocket carry. The holster had an odd design as well. Finally the otterbox annoyingly covered the charge port, which makes it a PITA to plug in at night or in the car.

Too bad about the Switcheasy Nude. I have one for my iPhone 4 and aside from a slight crack that develops on the lower corner, it's been very solid and I like it very much. I was hoping for basically the same case with taller dimensions for the iPhone 5, but it sounds like the new models aren't up to snuff. Pity.

Which color did you get? Pictures?

:D

I should be getting my clear one for my white 5 in the next day or two.

I don't think the Switcheasy is that bad, however I also have the Diztronic and its a very nice case. Slim, slides in and out of the pocket easy, and has the front lip so you can lay it screen down and be alright.

I said in a previous case thread I didn't like the Diztronic matte black on a Galaxy S2, but I can tell you this one for the iPhone 5 is absolutely perfect. Slim and protective, it is matte so it slides in out of your pocket easily and overall makes the phone look nice and sharp.

A++++ this time Diztronic

For the money you spent on these four cases, you could have bought AppleCare+ and rocked your phone naked, like it was meant to be.

I have Verizon's monthly insurance. I prefer a little protection so I reduce the risk of actually needing to go through the hassle of getting a new phone. It feels nice to not have to be so worried about it, especially when I drink.
