after about six hours and 18 cdr's later i am backed up. 9.2 is on the first 5gb of a 30gb ibm in ti 667/512. i haven't worked in 9 for a long time, and let me tell you those finder windows are jumping around like catfish on a.... (i really can't believe the difference, and the difference when it freezes, too. Ha! i have decided to keep this drive the way it is and use the big partition to store backup stuff on. i ordered one of the battery/fw/usb 2.5 enclosures from firewire direct. it is on sale for 80 dollars. now i am going to get a 32 or 42 ibm?? drive to put in the tibook and partion according to the above iDisc instructions. Here I go to start looking for what to get. i want the fast, quiet hard drive, so it doesn't interfere with the soulfull sttrains of the tibook's cooling fan on it's highest setting. thanks for all the input... toshiba?... no, ibm, i think they make those 32 and 42's that are faster (fluid bearing?) but i think they are thicker than 9.5, or .3 or, whatever?? oh well, here i go to look, if anybody want's to share their opionion... i'll be bach.
