    Hey guys,

Had an account on here years before, but can't remember the login or email I used.

Anyway, my girlfriend has an older iPad2 (not the air) that has a dead battery. It won't even really charge at all at this point. If I took it to the Apple Store, would they be able to do anything for us at all? Wanted to decide if I should just get her a new one for Christmas or just tried to get this one fixed. I'm assuming they don't keep iPad2's in stock anymore so just wanted to know if anyone knew what they'd be able to do for us. She didn't really use it as much as she thought she would which is why I'm not so eager to run out and just buy a brand new one for her.

    Thanks!

I think the iPad 2 is still supported. It's $99 to replace the battery.

That said, I would seriously consider upgrading to a more recent model, as it is highly unlikely the iPad 2 will be supported much longer. It does not have all the features of iOS 9, and I'm not sure if it'll get iOS 10 at all. Perhaps a mini might better suit your gf, as it is smaller and much more portable.
