Hi! I'm a windows user (Switching to mac soon though 😀 ) and I would like to rip my Futurama DVD boxsets (PAL) so I can play them on my iPod. I'm confused on how to rip them though. Shall I rip them as 320X240 MPEG-4 and 768Kbps or the newer iPod format 640x480 at the new bit rate? I'll be viewing them on a 60GB 5G iPod. Does anyone know a program that will rip from DVDs to the iPod formats (Both the old and new) I think I will rip to the old format because if the resolution of the iPod is 320X240 it'll have to waste battery life scaling the picture to fit?

Hey there!
What you need is handbrake:

I recommend the Mac Version because it's a proper release, but there is a windows version, though I've never used it:

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tivo-mplayer/HandBrake-0.7.0-GUIAndCLI-20060115.zip?download

(If the link doesn't work check out the below website and you'll find it)

That'l rip and convert straight into iPod format.

if you have vids already on your hard drive (or if you're sneaky and gettem from Youtube) you can use iSquint to convert them if you're using Mac OSX.

Hope this helps!
