Quick question about 16GB storage and smartphone bar codes.

16GB Storage:

I expect to put 5GB of music on the iPhone, keep 1 or 2 movies on it, and of course APPS!! I am guessing that like computers iOS would take up some memory (not sure how much). Does anyone know how much space left I would probably have on a 16GB iPhone after that?

Barcodes:

Is there a specific app on the App Store that I have to download to be able to scan those smartphone bar codes?

I have a 16GB iPhone. The capacity, out of the box, is 14GB. I have 393 songs, 2 videos, 72 photos and 37 apps and my available space is 7.6GB.

To give you a comparison, I have a 32GB 4.

I have 1,116 songs, 53 videos (about 6 of those are TV shows, no movies atm), 3,800 photos and 180 apps loaded (I do reviews for work). My capacity is 29.1 GB and I have 7.2 free right now.

Songs: 571
Videos: 82
Pictures: 685
Apps:102
Capacity: 29.3
Available: 8.9

So I'm using close to 20GB with all that stuff.

I could easily manage on a 16GB. I just hoard too many Apps.
