    Does it have a speaker?
Can you talk with a speaker-function on the iPhone 3GS?

I normally lay my mobile down on the table when sitting in my office, using the speaker function. If the iPhone has this, is it any good?

Yes. All iPhones have speaker-phone capability.

    Good.
Is it good? Or is it too weak? Is the mic good enough to capture your voice, or will others have trouble hearing you?

Great to hear. Now we've established that the speaker is indeed powerful.
So now all we have left is the microphone. How does it work for the lady on the other end of the phone? Do you ever get complaints that people can't hear you, or tell you to speak louder?

These would be the typical indications of the microphone not being suited to longer distances, between the user and the phone. But this might not be the case, or is it?

I use the speaker phone all the time, and it's fine. No one asks me to repeat myself, and we have a normal convo.
