As most uMBP owners have dedicated graphics, it seems that most tend to still use the integrated w/ the dedicated isn't needed because the dedicated makes the laptop really warm.

As for the older MBP (non unibodys), did it heatup/warmup the same amount as the uMBP dedicated graphics?

Just curious

I'd say so. Depends a lot on the usage. When idling, my Early 2008 runs a little bit cooler than the Late 2008 I had (with 9600M GT turned on). But under load it's about the same.
