If I upgrade to lion on my macbook pro, and continue backing up with time machine, will it still be possible to restore to snow leopard? Or should I make a ccc backup of my drive before I update?

Thanks

This is a useful site for TM.

The link should answer part of your question:

If you have enough room on your external drive Lion will make separate backups from Snow Leopard.
I can sell access my S/L backups from a 1.5TB drive via my S/L disc or Lion TM.

If you are going to continue using TM to backup on the same drive maybe cloning your current version of S/L would be safer.

Awesome, nice to hear lion will make a separate backup from snow leopard. I think I'm going to make ccc backup anyways just in case. Thanks for the info!
