Quick question about using "Preview"

how come when you open up a picture file preview opens it and you cant press next to see the next picture when trying to browse through a folder full of pictures?

Preview isn't really meant for seeing multiple pictures in a folder.
That's what Quick Look is for. Just select one picture in that folder, and hit the space bar.

Otherwise, if you *really* want to use Preview, you'll have to select all the images in the folder, open them all in Preview, and do it that way. Again, try using Quick Look instead -- it's meant for browsing and viewing things in folders and across your computer.
