ok, sorry if this needs to be moved. i just have a quick question:

i have an internal web site on my network on another computer, and i can get it fine on the internal domain name on any macs on my network.

but i have windows 7 on my macbook air, and it will not go to the site. in IE 8 or firefox, it keeps trying to put "www" in front of the address.

what am i missing here?

Could it be a workgroup issue? Does that affect internal domain lookups?

Have you tried connecting via the ip address instead of the domain? Does that work?

Try just putting http://

i have done that, with the same problem

i have tried with the ip address instead of the domain, and it goes to the site, but none of the images load.

ok, it still doesn't work right. i can't figure out what is going on.

i turned off HomeGroup in Windows 7, but that didn't seem to help anything. how do i change the workgroup in windows 7, and what would i change it to?

fixed the problem:

as it turned out, i just had to change my host file, and then it worked!
