quick question about copied files, every time I copy a file from a hard drive formatted in NFTS to my HFS+ mac drives I get a file called Thumbs.db, its an unix executable, what is it? can i delete it or doing so will cause any problems?

Thumbs.db is a hidden file used in Windows to save thumbnails of images. If you look at images in Windows built in viewer, or if you let it generate thumbnail icons, those images are saved in Thumbs.db.

On a Mac, it does nothing. You can delete it.
