quick question re. os 4.0.1

Hello!

I have downloaded the firmware 4.0.1, and was hoping to upgrade my ipod touch 3rd generation to it. It is currently on 3.2 or something..
how do i do this?

You can't. iTunes will force you to go to 4.0.2. This should be in the iPod touch forum btw.
