I have an iPhone 3G from Rogers. It's been jailbroken and unlocked (or so I thought) for the past year, but I wasn't using it since I was in Korea.

Anyway, I got a Fido SIM today and popped it in, no go.

Under About, Network, it says 'Not Available'. I turned 3G on and off, still nothing.

So I fully restored it with a jailbroken version of 3.1.2 (don't really care about 3.1.3), and used blackra1n to unlock it. Same result.

I'm beyond frustrated because I haven't been able to use my iPhone for the 2 years I was in Korea, and now I'm still not able to!

So, my question is, can I restore it to the locked firmware, which is locked to Rogers, and still use the Fido SIM? Rogers and Fido are the same company.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :apple:

I have heard the phones are locked to one or the other. However, I have never tested it.

With several of Rogers/Fido's OTHER phones, I can confirm that the SIM lock on Rogers phones is distinct from the SIM lock on the same model of phone from Fido. That is, the Rogers phones I have tried (eg. the LG Neon) will not accept Fido SIM cards, and the same is also true in reverse for Fido phones (eg. the LG Neon F) with Rogers SIM cards.

I've never tried it directly with iPhones though.
