Quick reply messages in Monterrey?

Did they happen to bring back the quick reply to messages from the notification banner?

I miss it terribly.

Kinda sucks that I can still do it in other message apps.

Nope. Same process as Big Sur (click Options > Show More)

What other messaging apps allow you to do that? I miss this feature so much that I'm willing to switch to one that allows quick reply.

I also hate that - a single workflow now requires two steps - seems like a backwards move.
