Hi everyone,

I'm trying to setup my new iPhone 15 Pro and am doing a phone-to-phone direct transfer from my iPhone 13 Pro. It's saying it's going to take 2 days (after an hour already). The top corner of each device doesn't show the WiFi icon, but instead the SOS icon on the 13 (because the SIM card is in the new phone) and the 5G icon on the 15. Is that normal? It can't possibly take that long, no matter how much I have on the device. I have super fast WiFi with no real issues otherwise. Any ideas?

Thanks!

They are doing phone-to-phone either bluetooth or WiFi. Did you put them close together? I stacked mine on top. The iCloud option likely faster. Took mine 30 mins for about 125GB of data.

They are sitting within an inch of each other. There was no option to choose the method, so I assume they would have just negotiated direct WiFi (or using the WiFi network) for the transfer. The fact that it's taking so long either means it's chosen a really slow method, or the estimate is wildly off!

My guess is they decided on Bluetooth which is going to be slow. I did mine from a 14 Pro, I'm not sure if the 13 gives them less options.
