on the iPad pro's virtual keyboard, you don't need to hit shift or the ?123 key to get the special characters on the top half of the keys that have them; just hold down the key (e.g. Hold down 1 to get '!' Or hold down ; to get ':')

This is especially helpful when your first character in a sentence is a special character. Say goodbye to playing whack-a-mole with the shift key!

Useful tip, thanks.

My biggest frustration - is triggering the Textexpander secondary keyboard, when I mistakenly hit the Globe icon, thinking I'm hitting the 123 icon.

The latter two are switched around on the iPhone and iPad Pro, so muscle memory sees me triggering it constantly. Driving me nuts - to the point where I might uninstall Textexpander's keyboard, which is not ideal...

Anyone else doing the same?

oh yeah, i know EXACTLY what you mean. it's madness when hitting the '?123' key and getting a face full of emoji. i've even got a handy illustration for when i need to vent this frustation.

and it's not only that you went from iphone/regular ipad to ipad pro; but that even in the pro, a lot of apps still use the old layout...so you use those apps, tap the corner for the special characters, then switch over to Safari, type type type, tap the corner for special characters and then...EMOJIs GALORE!

SO relieved it's not only me.

Drives me mental - and I've only had it for a week!

Disabled emoticons because of it... still trying to push through with Textexpander...
