I wanted to get some feedback or just opinions. I have a 27 inch i3 IMAC, that I am going to trade for a i7 15 inch macbook pro with a matt screen. Both are current 2010 models and about the same age. I am also giving the macbook owner 500. Do you think this is a good deal, or a deal worth doing (from a money stand point only.) And what should I look for before the trade ?

Thanks for your help!

I would say it depends on if you really need the extra power and mobility. if you're just doing some browsing and having no need to take your computer around, you should be happy with the iMac. iMac is way better for movie viewing and other daily use than MBP is.

also, if speed is what you're concerning about, you'd want to make your iMac faster by using that 500 for a solid state drive or 2*4gb memory. those will boost the performance by a whole lot.
