It's time for me to upgrade our computer. We will be using Final Cut Pro X for our video needs and Cubase for our audio.
To get a solid 5 years out of the computer, which route should we go... a beefy iMac or beefy Mac Pro?
HardDrive situation which is best? 1TB SSD or 256 SSD with Firewire/Thunderbolt External hard drive?

HD clips - mostly 1080p
will be using Effects on clips
A little Motion 5 action
Audio:
multiple VST and VSTi configuration
Recording multiple channels at once
