Apple's site is confusing me. From what I remember, can't anyone upgrade for the $399 price by just extending your contract or do you even have to be eligible for that as well?

I remember getting a 3gs and then getting it stolen 3 months later. Went to the apple store and got a new one for $399 but had to extend my contract again. Based on apples upgrade chart it doesn't seem like thats the case anymore, but I could be wrong. Clarification? Thanks

It looks like you have to be eligible for that too. Right now if you check your eligibility (dial *NEW#) and it says sometimes in 2011 then the price at the moment is $399

But it is probably best to call them or go in store to verify what the price is for you.
