I was just going to use virtual box for a windows vm, but I saw a local shop selling vmware fusion 3 for 9 euro. If I buy it can I download fusion 4 and use the licence from fusion 3 on it?

I'm using snow leopard and from what I'm reading fusion 4 is more for lion, so is vmware fusion 4 even worth it if your just using snow leopard?

VMware Fusion 4 is a "pay-for" upgrade from version 3. I myself, using SL because of the age of my computer (can't go to Lion,) concluded that it wasn't worth it. That said, of course you could use the license from 3 to upgrade, but be aware that you'd have to pay the upgrade price.
