I thought I'd start a thread on the newly released Quicken 2018. I just purchased it and starting from scratch. I had a bit of a hiccup with my 2016 version (honestly forgot what all happened) and ended up starting from scratch about a month ago. I'm really not going to lose that much data by starting new now.

So if anyone has any questions they want to ask before buying, or talk about issues, post 'em here. Hopefully this fulfills everything everyone's been waiting for from Quicken.

If I'm not mistaken, this would be the first full version after Quicken left Intuit.

1. I have Quicken 2017. Will Quicken 2018 merely update the 2017 data (and change the version number)? Or, is 2018 all new and therefore needs to first import the 2017 data?

2. Has anyone seen a matrix that compares 2017 features with the 2018 feature set?

I currently am using Quicken for Mac 2017 and generally upgrade every 2 years. I hesitate to upgrade to a subscription based program unless I feel it could save me money in the long run. So my question is this, does the Premier version have to ability to download from my bank without my bank charging me $9.95 a month as it does now for a direct connect monthly fee? If it does that would be savings otherwise I will be paying for Quicken yearly subscription fee in addition to the $9.95 monthly connect fee from my bank. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Yipes! Well my first thought was look for another bank before paying more for Quicken Premier or paying you bank an extra $120/year. How many checks do you write a year, and is the time savings worth it over just using your banks service (which at my bank is free). Also are you writing any checks to pay recurring bills that could be more easily taken care of with "auto pay" and EFT?
