I keep forgetting to drain my iphone battery once a month to keep it "fresh" (assuming that does work and isn't an old wives' tale). Is there an app or a combination of apps that will drain the battery pretty quickly, instead of me trying to time it on any given night (which never works out)?

Turn on WiFi and Bluetooth, open 8 internet pages, and play music. That's about the most you can do at once

and turn on all push notifications

Full brightness, turn everything on (BT, Location services Push) except for WiFi, and watch YouTube videos on 3G (which should drain the batter quicker than using WiFi).

Great solutions. I'll try them one at a time and see what works. By the way, I've had my 3GS since it came out. Does that "drain the battery once a month" thing really keep the battery at its optimum capacity?

Kinda. It's good to do it once or twice when you first get it. But after that, you don't really need to do it

3G + wifi + bluetooth + youtube + max brightness. If you have a JB phone - background EVERYTHING.

Put on Push, checking as freqently as possible. Then open up the Maps app - i'd say the GPS chip drains the battery the quickest bar the 3G chip.

If you have unlimited data, get a radio app with a high bit rate station. (ex) cbc radio or radio paradise and play while on 3G. The phone heats up quickly and for me losses life rapidly.

Hm, I'd assume that hand-warmer app does a pretty good job.

Whenever I look at the battery info app it always says I will run out of battery soonest if i play games.... so my suggestion is turn everything on, full brightness etc, and have fun playing your most graphic-intensive game for an hour or so.

I don't understand why you would want to waste a battery cycle like that. Just use your phone normally until it automatically shuts off and then charge it up to 100% + 2hrs.
