So in the recent days/weeks, I've noticed that my MacBook Pro (15 inch, Late 2013 with nVidia GT 750M) was getting super hot and the battery was draining fast, despite only browsing the internet with Safari.

I noticed that the discreet GPU is always being used. If I reboot, it switches to the integrated GPU, but soon it switches back to the discreet one and stays that way.

I installed gfxCardStatus, which tells me why this is happening: QuickLookUIService is forcing the discreet GPU to be on. It's even listed in "Apps using significant energy" in the battery menu in the menu bar.

Spotlight is not indexing. What could cause QuickLookUIService to stay on for so long (weeks)?
