I was entirely happy with QuickReplySMS for iPhone before I upgraded to iOS 5. Now that I'm here, I'm having to make do with BiteSMS, which is simply not to my liking. I'm looking for a replacement for QuickReplySMS that only has quick reply functions.

I don't want some extra text app, I don't need the ability to text for free, I just want to be able to reply from any screen on my phone. I'd be able to deal with BiteSMS except that it's not free, its texting app is ugly and has way too many options and when I get a new text, my actual stock SMS app doesn't get a badge.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get this magical sort of app, or failing that, where I could get in touch with the developer of QuickReplySMS? Thanks.

I miss this as well, but I'm still waiting for an untethered JB before looking. With the new notification bar, it would be nice to have the option to just drop it down with a keyboards to reply. Once the untether comes out and more people jailbreak, I'm sure there will be a Dev along the way to tweak functionality of the drop-down bar.

On iOS4 I was using iRealSMS, and I was only realistically using the quickreply/quicksend features. I couldn't care less about a full featured SMS replacement.

It's part of what I miss most about JB'ing. Quickreply/send, status bar icons and 3GUnrestrictor.

you could give sms+ a try ( not free though) it lets yo have a quick reply and it integrates with apples native sms app

I contacted the created via cydia and he has no plans to bring it to ios5

He almost didnt update it to ios4 when it came out

I feel your pain. I miss it too
