O.k. got that nice QuickSilver G4 with 2x1.8GHz (Sonnet) and an aluminium (full size) Apple kbd. It does work, but on every powerone the OF will open the cd-tray before booting.

I also witnessed this behaviour with the 2x2.3G5 and a NoName (actually Genius I think) kbd.

On the QS I tried 3 different KBDs (as in 2 Apple-aluminium and 1 Apple white/acryl) both on the internal USB1.1 and on a PCI-USB2 card, all the same effect.

But I do know that the last time it did work with one of the aluminium-KBDs, so I guessing at some OF-variable being borked (system has been without power for a month).

Reset the PRAM- FIxes most things, i had this happening to me, and it sorted it out :)

Apple(Command) + Option(Alt) + P + R At boot up.

On 3rd attempt that actually worked ...

Will see if it stays o.k. tommorow (after being powerless for a few hours)...

Otherwise I would need to hunt down a replacement-battery.

Yeah thats the other best bet, they cost nothing and are easy to replace so its worth doing anyway :)
