when will a windows version quicktime 7 be released. also when for panther and all of those other oses. h.264 won't be to useful if only tiger supports it.

I also just bought a QT Pro key - only about 3 months ago. There ought to be a discount or even free upgrade for people who had just purchased. Makes you hesitant to shell out for anything, if you're afraid they're just going to upgrade the product and disable your key.

Well Pro features seem pretty much most of the options. I bought pro less that 12 months ago...I think I'll see if VLC covers my needs before forking out more money
That's if VLC is still around then ... :(

It probably would take a competent Cocoa programmer about a day to implement a QuickTime player with most of the functionality of the QuickTime player, and never have to pay a registration fee again.

But then again, it probably would be cheaper to work that day instead, and pay Apple the $30! ;)

Not for me

Why this update to QuickTime 7 was available in Software Update I donot understand. Instead of an update you get a downgrade. With QT6 Pro I could save and download QT movies and music. QT7 has removed these possibilities.
When you upgrade to OS X Tiger your Pro possibilities are gone. Weird. You have to pay again to get back what you already had.
This is reason enough for me not to buy Tiger.
