QuickTime Capture Video vs. Others

Are there any disadvantages or advantages for capturing your desktop using Quicktime capture rather than 3rd party software such as Snapz X Pro? I really don't want to shell out extra money if Quicktime ends up being the better capture desktop method.
 
The main factor for me getting ScreenFlow was the CPU usage:
