Quicktime Export Video & Keep Original Date

Hi there,

I'm just trying to get my hands dirty with iMovie 09 using some mpg and avi files that I have from the previous years.

Unfortunately I realized that I can't import them directly to iMovie but rather convert them using Quicktime for that matter.

Problem is that by creating a new video file I lose all the information about the date that the clip is originated.

Is there a workaround to this?

Just so that everyone knows, I found out that you can use touch for changing the access and modification times of a file in relation to another.

Use

touch -r [original filename] [exported filename]
