QuickTime movies - no audio faster than 1.9x speed ?

Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone knows why the audio on QT videos stops if you play the clip at 2x speed or faster ? The fastest I can playback with audio still working is 1.9x speed.

Using a Mac Pro 3.1, OSX 10.11 El Capitan with all updates.
