quicktime not add to lib on open

Hello

Can I make quicktime not add a music file I click on in Finder to the music library? The library explodes if Im trying to listen to one of my friends music since it copies the file into the library when I just want to listen to it...
 
Erm, are you talking about iTunes? 😱

If you open the file with QuickTime it shouldn't be added to any library.
