Hi,

I have some videos I got from a friend. They are in a widescreen format, and they play back fine in VLC. However, I'd like to get them to play in Quicktime/iTunes so they can play in Front Row.

They currently play in Quicktime, but the aspect ratio is incorrect. I think the original file is "anamorphic", such that the pixels need to be stretched to create the widescreen effect. I'm forgetting the actual pixel by pixel count, but it's something like 1080 by 14xx, rather than 19xx.

Like I said, VLC stretches it out properly, quicktime and a Divx player I have do not.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Is there any other information I should provide?

Thanks.

Hi bdemers,

Follow the link below and scroll down to the "If you issue is one of a squashed image..." section. I believe it requires QuickTime Pro, so hopefully you have that. Hope that helps :)
