Has anyone noticed? I'm using QuickTime Player + Perian + Flip4Mac, and I've noticed that movies appear to have richer color contrast, while the movies in VLC or MPlayer OS X Extended will appear slightly washed out.

The only thing about QuickTime Player though, is, that I get this feeling that VLC will play .avi movies, for instance, slightly smoother, or should I say at a higher fps rate than QuickTime.

Does anyone else get this feeling? Is there a way to measure fps in QuickTime Player and then in VLC/MPlayer for a comparison?

I'd be curious to see the results.

VLC has extended controls ie: color adjustments and sound. although it cant convert movies to iphones at least for the version of vlc i have.
