Quicktime Preferences

New to MacOS. Gradually getting the hang of it.

I am perplexed by Quicktime though. Should it have a preferences menu? I can't see it. I would have thought you would have been able to change things like whether the Video autoplays on opening, position of the menu etc. But I can't see the option.

Am I missing something?

Thanks. Seems strange. Is there a better Video player which is more configurable?

A lot of people use VLC. It's far from perfect but it's "good enough" in most cases.

It's also possible to install the older QuickTime 7, but it's apparently going to break with the next version of MacOS so I wouldn't rely on it.

Thanks; I didn't even know that this existed. Unlike VLC it can actually seek through .m2ts files so that's an immediate improvement

Does anything else movie wise work in mac and tvs?
itunes does not want to import movies with the correct file name and
tv hates my airport express wireless speaker all of the sudden
figures
because i just deleted my VCL programs and firefox from my mini.
