I just received my new ibook, and everything is working out great....except my quicktime is having trouble playing some video clips ( these clips were DL'd onto my PC originally). I get a message saying i need to DL some plug-ins and it takes me to the apple/quicktime page, but I'm not sure which plug-ins I need or how to install them. Thanks in advance.

Ok, so it depends what the video codecs are. As an educated guess, I'd say they are probably Divx's or something (with the file extension .avi).

You can get codecs to get them to work with Quicktime, but I havent got them to work. What I'd suggest is downloading and using VLC Player. That plays pretty much anything you throw at it.

Some people have stability issues with it, but it works fine for me (if a little slow loading).

The Divx codec for Quicktime (well, the best one) is called 3ivx and is available at www.3ivx.com. With this, .avi Divx files will play inside QT Player. It has always worked fine for me.
