    1. Download MPEG Streamclip (http://www.squared5.com/)

    2. Drag FLV Files into MPEG Streamclip

    3. Go to File Menu

    4. Choose which Format you want to Export to

I've d/loaded a .flv file from YT to test things. I drag the .flv file across QTPro in the dock, it opens as a QT Player movie. I then Save As. I've also tried MPEG Streamclip, which works, also an app called SWF & FLV Player.

So, what might not be happening with your setup? Open SysPrefs to see if Perian is actually installed. Video but no audio is usually fixed with Perian.

If you've not rebooted since you installed QTPro and/or Perian, then you should do that.
