Hello

My new MacBook air 2.13/SSD came with snow leopard installed it is now upgraded to 10.6.1.
I open for the first time Quicktime player today and it says version 10.0 (51).
Now, I wanted to upgrade to quicktime pro like I had on my powerbook and Apple website says , you first have to install quicktime player 7.6.4 !!!

So what will happen to this beautiful and much improved 10.0 id I do that ?
will they co exist ?

can someone explain this, Apple support is dead murky on this

No, there is no Quicktime X Pro. The Apple page you saw applies only to the older Quicktime 7, which DOES have an optional Pro license.

If you want or need the older Quicktime 7, you can install it from the Snow Leopard Install DVD's optional installs folder.

Ok many thanks, so this quicktime player 10.0 is in fact the new Quicktime X .
Apple is quite confusing with this issue, they do not communicate about X and advertise pro 7.6.4 in their website , although it is old news.
Well so far I do not need more feature than this player recorder does so wait & see .
