The podcast of the keynote is out. 745.7MB. My internet is pretty slow, so I can't tell you if it actually works or not.

Steve really looks ill. It's not only that he's very thin, it's also his voice. It seems to me like he's thinking something like "I don't really feel well but I have to hold this keynote. So let's finish it quickly". A little bit like a robot.

That explains the release of these minor upgrades. :D
He must not have been around to push the people to do better.

I'm just teasing. I do hope he gets better. :(

Real Soccer

McBrude and Basley??? I thought that game was supposed to be licenses to use real players!

Maybe Steve is a bit discouraged because all his big updates got posted prematurely on the internet.

And you all need to stop complaining. The only reason it was disappointing is because we all already knew what was going to happen.

If you want to be satisfied by these events, stop using MacRumors.

Grabbing an old ipod

If I get myself a 160 GB classic ipod rather than the new 120 GB model - am I giving up anything besides thin-ness. It's the same architecture and hardware and software?

thanks.

Hardware yes. Software no. Not unless they release an update which gives you genius playlists and the new voice recording stuff.

Does anybody know the music from the iPod touch update? Sounds like Pink, but then, Apple don't use known people often (like Chairlift's Do You Inspire You for the nano ad).

Oh really...if camera phones were so good, real digital cameras would be obsolete.

You like the iPhone. Great. Nothing wrong with that. Not everyone likes the iPhone, though, and that's okay as well. Your comments about how utterly, and unquestionably, fantastic the iPhone is are not echoed by everyone. I can't wait to get rid of mine.

By the way what do you do that you need 6GB of RAM? Vista possibly? OS X sure doesnt need 6GB to run smoothly. I can assure you no normal user would even come close to using 6GB. 4GB is even debatable for many of us. 2GB runs wonderfully!

You really need to start thinking outside your box more. You don't define what "normal" people need, as I can assure you, you don't know everyone to be able to make that kind of comment.

I use that much memory and more in my Mac Pro. I wish I could push my MacBook Pro beyond 4 GB. You might not understand why, or think that I need to, but I do. Maybe I should turn the tables and suggest that you have some sort of personal issue with having only 2 GB of memory in your machine. What's good for the goose and all...

"That is Torquay, madam."
"Well it's not good enough."
"Well can I ask what you expected to see from a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of Wildebeest sweeping majestically..."

"I expect to see the sea."
"You can see the sea... it's over there between the land and the sky."

I'm downloading from the iTunes 'Apple Keynote' podcast. 745MB
I'm not seeing it.

I was sad to see no mac tablet or new displays. I doubted it would happen but whateva. I like to see the new nanos, they look nice. Also the new touch seems pretty much the same, other than the price drop. everything else is pretty much the same. definitely an over rated event but good none the less

I too am concerned about how Jobs looked and acted. His "rumors of my death" bit was funny, so apparently he has no intentions of stepping down.

But I was puzzled by the keynote. The new Nanos are nice, but nothing earth-shaking. The new Touch is nice, but nothing too different. I'm wondering why the press was supposedly told by Apple that this keynote was going to be a "big deal" and that they'd better be there. It's almost as if Apple was crying wolf.

I'm really excited about the projects Apple might have on the horizon -- those would truly be a "big deal." But iPod rehabs don't IMO qualify as that. Neither does "Genius," which seems to be Pandora for the iTunes store.

A friend suggested that perhaps there really was a "big deal" planned, but for some reason its announcement got scrapped at the last minute. It just feels like a bit of a letdown because my expectations were so high. I might have to avoid MacRumors before these events so I don't get my hopes up. :)

Sooooo whens do you guys think their bringing out the macbook pros....before November??

Apple could refresh both Macbooks and Macbook Pros together again, probably in October, don't know about Pros but Macbooks have been refreshed around october for years
the interesting thing is that people suggest other apple products could see changes before Christmas as well, new processors or something for Mac Pros, new Displays, no Mac Minis at all, new processors for the MBA
talking about a lot of changes here..I say Apple won't do it all together and rather do something to the MBPs in October and to the MBAs as well,Mac Pros and Displays,Minis in January and my heart cries typing this...no Aluminum Macbooks earlier than WWDC09,June,I guess
