i use vlc to play all the other stuff like divx and xvid .avi files. however, the interface is irritating. i like quicktime where everything is in ONE window, and there's only one "X" that i have to press to close the video. i don't like the seperate control bar, and what's even annoying is that if i close the player window with the video, it's like the program is split in half. is it possible to ahve a quicktime style wihere everything is a lot more convinient?

I agree with you. Bitplayer is what I use most of the time, but I still have to resort to VLC for some files. I also don't like the fact that VLC closes the playback window when the file gets to the end of the video.

Still, I'm grateful that it's there anyway.

You do know that you can get divx/xvid playback components for QT, right? (although there are apparently some Tiger incompatibilities).
