Hi all,
I have an i7 and it came with Quicktime X player. What I was reading is that if I want to convert avi files to mov, I would need to have quicktime pro7.

Should I uninstall Quicktime X, then install quicktime 7 in order to get quicktime pro (make a purchase)? Quicktime X seems like an upgrade to QT7 so I am hesitant in doing so. Is there anything out there that would allow my QTX to convert files? (like QTX pro??)

Any help appreciated.

Thanks. I will give that a shot.

btw, I just found that qtx doesn't require any pro in order to convert files. I just need open the avi file, click on "save as" and that's it.

Wish I can do a batch convert from QTX....

You can do batch conversions with MPEG Streamclip.
