I constantly close apps because im OCD about it but when I have 12+ apps backgrounded I still dont notice a change in performance. Battery life might take a small hit but not that I notice. Most of the time though I am either using the iphone with all the apps in the background or it is on standby with no apps open because I close them all when I am done. I think that saves the battery life.
But it doesn't.
Do either of you have any evidence to support your claims?
Yea see my other post.
It seems that the process of storing the backgrounded apps in ram doesn't use enough battery life to notice... Save for the apps that actually run in the background like pandora. But I imagine, to keep them in RAM, it would exert at least a tiny bit of battery life.
No more than if ram were empty. the ram is powered either way. Its not like ram would be "turned off" when its not in use.
