I just completed my first software update on my first mac(1.83 GHz C2D
combo macbook) and i had two extremely newbie qusetions

    1. Does the airport extreme update include the 'n' upgrade?
    and
2.When the updates are installed, my mac automatically deletes the old versions right?

    thanks

    1. No, if you want 802.11n capabilities you have to buy the enabler for $1.99. Link

    2. Well, there isn't exactly an old version to delete. ...Just don't worry about it. ;)

in regards to 2., I thought you might want a little more than just don't worry about it, which is in fact 100% correct. Nevertheless, I imagine your question is aimed at ensuring that you are not wasting space with old files hanging around now that you have updated. This was something you would often have to worry about in, lets just say a different operating system (look at my avatar if you need a hint), but it is not how Apple's OS works in large part. The only time this would be an issue, and a pretty small one at that (unless you are someone who posts on here and cares, which I am;) ). There are several utilities out there that handle this issue should it come up, but in an effort to just keep it simple, I will leave it up to you tell us if you want more info on this latter point.
