Finally got to return my new mini to an apple agent shop in Ireland. We don't have official apple stores here.
I noticed the problem after buying the mini in mid November. I rang apple and they organized a return by ups. I bought it off apple online.
They then returned it to say it was fine and up to spec. I wasn't happy and rang them again. They finally told me to return it to the apple agent shop and I'll have my new one tomorrow. I returned it 5 days ago.

Here's the pics.
Blue tint on the right.
Light bleed on the left.

Is this the new rMini? Or the old one, which got exchanged? I hope it's the old one.. I thought new rMini productions are getting better.

Here is a recent (week 51). Subtle but visible gradation. I wonder if this relates to the location of the backlight? I also wonder if this is about as good as it gets.

Iv never had an issue with any iPad and Iv had them all. But u have to agree the blue tint is quiet noticeable on my first picture above.

Here you go with split keyboard. Yes, home button on the left in both shots. Brightness is around 50%. The darker areas in the upper corners are due to camera exposure. The screen is very evenly bright from side to side - better than the Air that I had, which had a little of the "book spine" effect along the left edge.

I exchanged my perfect 32GB Verizon Retina Mini for a 128GB Verizon Retina Mini yesterday. This one is perfect as well. I guess a screen cap won't really show it huh?

I noticed the yellow tint near the bottom of my screen without knowing that was an issue with these. I am going to return it or have it swapped because it's extremely annoying. I hope the next one is better.

Mine is week 49 from Foxconn and has a decent screen. Slight bookspine on top and an extremely slight yellow tint on the bottom. But otherwise fairly uniform white and bright. I've seen enough of these to know that it's damn near impossible to find perfection with these retina screens. Not sure what the culprit is, but they're nowhere near as uniform in brightness and hue as the non retinas.

On my 2nd retina ipad mini. Same issue as the first one (but without the dead pixel the first one had).

Both week 49 Pegatron-Protek.
