Did you even check the R-sim manufacturers website ?
As far as I can tell R-sims are only for 4S and newer iPhones.

For an iPhone 4, sim interposers only work for baseband (modem firmware) 2.10.xx, 3.10.xx or 4.10.xx

Carrier is irrelevant (except it must be a GSM phone since CDMA iPhone4 has no sim slot).

The only unlock for your phone is an IMEI unlock from carrier who sold the phone or a grey market vendor. See IMEI unlock thread in this forum.
