The nerve of some folk.
Here is an entire community dedicated to discussing how much she sucks. Fittingly, the "Rachel Ray Sucks Community." So far as I can tell, she does not, in reality, suck community.

She has a site dedicated to her..although they are a bunch of haters looking for something to talk about. I think she goes there from time to time to laugh at them and get a few pointers.

Bless

I've caught short bursts of her when I'm visiting my folks and my Mum's got Oprah on (only on Oprah she's called "rachealRAAAAAAAAYYYYY.....)

She's not a chef, fairly entertaining but typically American loud.

Give me good ol' Delia Smith any day, quiet, polite, no-fuss.

They should cancel her 42 Food network shows and replace them with more Alton Brown. Anyone else watch Feasting on Asphault? I only caught the last half or so of the series - I was in the middle of moving most of the summer, so no TiVo. It looks like it's coming to DVD (or already is?) so I have to get it on my Netflix list! That was a neat/fun program, very interesting, informative, and entertaining... just like Good Eats.

I guess some people are more ambitious than others: see Ray's 25 billion cookbooks alongside all those different TV shows. Brown's more about quality than quantity (though his involvement in "Iron Chef America" hardly saves it from mediocrity), and there's only so many themes that can be mined or re-mined in the "Good Eats" format.

I probably should Tivo "30 Minute Meals" for a little bit: I can cook fancy, elaborate meals, but sometimes run out of inspiration for quick, everyday cooking.

Food Network banished all the Jamie Oliver reruns to some obscure time slot like 1AM on the weekends, but "Oliver's Twist" is worth watching: simple, gutsy, fun fare. He's as entertaining as Alton Brown, but in an entirely different way.

Her most annoying trait is that she abbreviates everything, only to explain it later (every time).

For example:
"Just add a little EVOO, that's Extra Virgin Olive Oil."

...EVERY TIME!
