RAID 0, 1, 5, and 01 speed comparison

Does anyone know of, or have a speed comparison between a RAID 0, 1, 5, and possibly a 01 on the new Mac Pro. I found a few reviews from other manufacturers, but I was interested in how read / write speeds for the Mac Pro and the Apple RAID card stack up. I'm particularly interested in how much slower a RAID 5 is then a RAID 0.

Also, can the Mac Pro do a 0+1 RAID without a card or does it need one to be able to do it? Would adding a card be a benefit in a situation like this?

And Yes, a RAID card will speed it up, but not as much as RAID 5 though.

Not exactly what you were after, but if you read this review about the Firmtek 5 Bay PM Enclosure and search for reviews of other Enclosures and PM cards, you can get a pretty good idea of what is out there.

AMUG haven't done reviews on Calldigit and some others but you'll gain some insight about what your after.

Thanks for the replies. For the RAID 01, I was planning on having one disk not in the RAID setup, to be able to run OSX and a bootcamp install, having two 500GB drives as a RAID 0 and having a 1TB drive as a RAID 1. Is this something I can do or would it be a better idea to have all 4 drives be identical and in the RAID setup?
