I noticed that my G-RAID Mini which is a FW800 Raid0 of 2x 7200rpmbdrives is almost twice as fast as the stock Sata 1.5 drive in my old Macbook Pro 2.4 C2D. So I thought of installing OS X and using it as a boot drive.

Bulkiness is fine as I only use this computer on location and it's always housed in a pelican case.

THEN, I wondered how much faster it would be if I bought 4x FW800 drives, daisy chained them together and Striped them together in a soft raid raid0 for a boot drive?

Do you see any sense in doing this? Technically it should make it 4 times faster, do you thikn it would in practice?
