Raid or no Raid

Am thinking of getting a NAS device to centralized my backups with a wireless MacBook pro and a PC, but sincle this will only be for home use, is Raid or Non-Raid preferrable? Given the price differences, situations in a business eviroment would get Raid for sure.

Suggestions?
