He posts this today on his website...

"Not much going on right now other than new builds of OS X 10.3.8 and 10.4 being seeded like crazy. At the rate of 10.3.8 seeds, we ought to be downloading this update within the next couple of weeks. As for OS X 10.4, things are still on track for a late March release — but you never know what might happen to cause a delay."

This isn't a flat out prediction as much as an optimistic viewpoint, but he does appear to be getting actual seeds. So there must be something to it, or not.

OK consider the source for this, but....

This is taken from macosrumors.com (notorious for inaccuracies)

"According to timetables recently given to us by Apple sources the Mac OS X 10.3.8 Update will be released by the end of the month and Tiger could be released as soon as late March if tweaks to 10.4's user interface, currently under way, go smoothly"

I know what you are saying....mosr sucks....and they got the 10.3.8 time wrong, well not wrong but off by 2 weeks, so how accurate could their Tiger prediction be....

Well i thought i would post this anyway

Rumours "seem" to be suggesting a late March release for Tiger
I just can't see it happening that quickly, given the quality of recent seeds. If it does, I think I'll wait for the .1 or even .2 update before I switch to it as my production OS.

Looking at the scheduled release dates on amazon.com for the various Mac OS Tiger related books, my best guess would be June-August for Tiger shipping. Of of course the release dates could change.

We really won't know when it's going to be shipped until Apple announces the shipping date. And no amount of guessing will change that fact.

Have you seen http://www.apple.com/macosx/ recently?

Tiger is now first on the OS X page, with Panther being an afterthought below. Tiger features are now descrbed in depth through a well-illustrated tour.

And look at:

http://www.apple.com/science/tiger.html
http://www.apple.com/pro/musicaudio/tiger.html
http://www.apple.com/pro/design/tiger.html
http://www.apple.com/pro/photo/tiger.html
and so on... not to mention
http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/tiger/
which keeps getting more detailed.

Judging by all that work, I'd say it's going to be sooner rather than later....

I think all the adverts bring up a good point. One does not hype up a release like this and push it to the end. Though, Jobs certainly has a reality distortion field...I think whispers of Copland and Longhorn would be enough to scare Apple.

A lot of that is computer generated, when I say that I mean they "edited" it in some application like flash, etc.
